Devils Lips started with one person's curiosity about hemp-derived CBD and the isolate category specifically. That curiosity turned into research, and the research turned into a mission to build a CBD isolate brand carefully and honestly, rather than rush a product to market before the rules — or the formulation — were ready.
Devils Lips was founded in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2019, as a family effort from day one. Building a brand rooted in Arizona — sourcing, formulating, and quality-checking close to home — was part of the mission from the start, not an afterthought.
The CBD market has moved faster than the regulations around it. A lot of brands made calls that looked fine at the time but carried real long-term compliance risk. We decided to wait until we could launch this correctly rather than rush a product to market on shaky ground — which means we still haven't shipped a single order.
The federal hemp standard (P.L. 119-37 §781, amending 7 U.S.C. §1639o) taking effect November 12, 2026 gives us a clear, precise target to build against, and we're building our CBD isolate line around it from the ground up.
