Before almost anything else, most new CBD customers want to know one thing: will this show up on a drug test? It's a fair question, and the honest answer depends entirely on which type of CBD product you're holding.
Standard drug tests screen for THC metabolites, not CBD itself. CBD isolate, by definition, contains no THC — so there's no THC metabolite for a standard test to detect. Full-spectrum products are a different story, since they retain trace THC by design, and repeated daily use of a full-spectrum product can, in some cases, accumulate enough THC metabolite to trigger a positive result.
It's tempting to think of isolate as just "full-spectrum with less THC," but that undersells the difference. Isolate isn't full-spectrum turned down — it's a completely separate extraction and purification process that removes THC (and every other cannabinoid) entirely, leaving CBD at 99%+ purity.
That's why a properly manufactured, third-party-tested isolate product should show non-detectable THC on every batch's Certificate of Analysis, regardless of the CBD strength. A 2500mg isolate tincture and a 500mg isolate tincture should both report 0.00% THC — the strength changes, the THC content doesn't, because it was never there.
We can tell you what's in the bottle: CBD isolate, verified batch by batch at 0.00% THC. What we can't do is promise a specific outcome on your specific test, administered by your specific employer or testing facility, using their specific cutoff thresholds. Testing panels, sensitivity levels, and cross-reactivity vary by lab and by policy.
If a drug test result matters to your job, your custody arrangement, or anything else with real consequences, the responsible move is to consult your employer or testing facility about their specific policies before relying on any hemp product — isolate or otherwise.
This is one of the biggest reasons Devils Lips is built entirely around CBD isolate rather than full or broad-spectrum. For customers who are navigating drug testing, travel, or workplace policies, isolate removes an entire category of uncertainty. It's not a marketing footnote for us — it's the whole product philosophy.
